I had to bump thid post.Anyone got photo.s of Green Walters? i find the fact that Golden Fleece behaves like a group One and Two very intersting maybe someone can give us more info on it
I know that Kevin has bred stunners and Golden Fleece is talked about a lot but i have no knowledge of these, if it is a universal yellow just imagine the possibility of its breeding Potential

John Winter send me 3 Golden Fleece seeds years back. All the plants flowered good quality orange. I have pollinated with a range of plants and have some very intersting results. My conclusion is that this plant belongs to more than two groups?

Martin, I thought Golden Fleece was a true group 2 yellow.
I put Hirao on my Golden Fleece in 2015. I have twenty seedlings, all with green stems.
Golden Fleece was bred by John Winter by putting the pollen of his JW37 onto a Kirstenbosch Yellow.
He got only green stems from this cross and the best one of these he named 'Golden Fleece'.
JW37 was a seedling bred by Graham Duncan from a Watkins Yellow he put onto 'Butter Yellow'.

Martin,

'Butter ' is actually the name that Mick Dower gave a Gr.2 yellow that was originally named 'The Wilds Yellow ',
it has a very dense umbel of flowers , and is the one parent of 'Pats Gold '.

Jaco1.
