Interesting Outcome
« on: October 16, 2017, 07:33:52 »
Many years ago before I knew a little about what could be crossed with what, I bought a very expensive seedling of Chubb x Cameron, after waiting patiently for it grow, imagine my disappointment when it flowered a miserable blotchy orange, which by then I knew it had to do but ever the optimist :)  Long story short a very kind breeder offered me pollen of both Chubb Peach and Cameron Peach which I duly applied next time it flowered which was marginally better.  The next year the flowers were magnificent and it is one of my very favourite oranges.  Two of the original crosses flowered for me this year and I am delighted with them both.

I will post a photo of the Mother plant as it is now and next the Chubb x and last but not least the Cameron x.  I noticed yesterday that the Chubb type flower has quite a few multi petal flowers hope they stay :)

Hi Mary,
Being a beginner as you know I think.
Lovely, all of them. I personally if offered the four, would be delighted to own the first photo, Orange Chubb x Cameron. For me it is a Wow.
