A very great surprise when it bloomed again in 2014

Again in 2015 it is now a dark Peach and looks as though that is how it is going to remain.  I was cross with it and didn't take a close up

The plant is in bud now, so I will see what is going to happen in a few weeks to my chameleon

Hi Mary, I am not sure if you have the same plant... Someone might have switched your label...the leaves look different from the little bit that I can see.

Mary just for interrest sake.

Was the plant moved to different locations each year ?
Was it replanted during the flowering history ?
Was the feeding program consistant each year ?

I like all the colour shades. Lovely irrespective. Name it Chameleon.

Thanks for sharing.

Kind regards
Eddie

 Definitely the same plant Michael, no someones around to switch labels or plants or indeed try any tricks.
It has of course over the years been re-potted a couple of times as it is a very robust plant.  The fertiliser I use is the same as that used at the Nursery, It had a stint out under the trees in 2014 but has been on the verandah now for a couple of years.

Mary, surely on the last photo, you mean the plant opening up, next to the peach, and not to the peach itself?
I agree with Eddie, plants can change a lot with feeding, climate or where you keep it on your property.

Chris I would have thought it was self evident :)  The large Grp 1 peach in the foreground is definitely not the one in question

Hi Mary
I would say I agree  feeding climate and where you keep it plays a big role
Lots of shade (cool)under the trees not much heat and reflected light and U.V Rays
The verandah more than likely some polycarbonate sheets and concrete or brickwork which would reflect more heat (tempreture)and light (U.V. Rays)
I'm not sure if anyone has done a study on light exposure (U.V)and the influence it has on colour.
Would be interesting to document when the plant flowers the tempreture U.V index wheathe(cloud cover) during the time of flowering.

Where did you keep it in 2013?   Rose colour

2012 Would have been under the light conditions at the Nursery
It might be worth investing in a light meter some cameras have a built in one and record the reading  at flowering time
Let's do a experiment if all the buds are not open yet
I wonder if you pop it under the same trees and leave it there to flower it might flower the same as in 2014
Then when say 3 buds are open take a few photos under the verandah one at 10 in the morning and one at 4 in the afternoon.
Then keep the plant under the verandah untitled the last two open and take a photo at 10 in morning and 4 in the afternoon.

If they are already open maybe wait until the first few are fully open take the pictures and pop the plant under the trees for the last two or three to open

I wonder what will happen if we cover one bud with foil or black plastic and then when the bud starts to open remove the dark covering.
How would that bud flower?

Sean
