Hi Humus,
did you ever find out whether your seedlings are nobilis or mirabilis?
I ask because I got a plant which look exactly like your seedlings and as I have nobilis and mirabilis I am not able to decide what this one is.

Thanks,
Renate
Best wishes

Here are a couple of images of C mirabilis seedlings and one of C nobilis for comparison:

Please note that the size of nobilis seeds are often about a third to quarter of the size of normal miniata seeds whereas that of mirabilis is about the same size as normal miniata seeds.

Are many growers adding Robusta genes to their Miniata breed programs???.......I`m going to........at this rate they are going to flower in 3 years.....................Humus...........

Hi Hugh

If you go for Robusta x Miniata.....do the reverse X and put Robusta onto Miniata. Guaranteed flowers in 3 years from planting seeds and excellent results for a F1 Interspec!!

Louis

Hi Maria

As real as can be :D! I think this is general knowledge by now - there was an article by Carrie about Allan Tait's Coromandel x Robusta Interspecs in one of the quartely newsletters and I have posted his seedlist and mine, together on the Forum this year.

I got my 1st plants from him in 2008 and called them "Corobi's" (Cor(omandel) + rob(usta) + i(nterspec)). I have done my 1st F2 X's in 2008 and 2009. My 1st F2 seedlings of 2009 (2008 X's) will be for sale soon (very limited quantities).

Check out this [link=topic=13206.msg93867#msg93867 date=1281836369] to view the plants I have offered for sale this year ::)

YES - also got my 1st variegated Interspec seedlings from these X's :woohoo:
