Do you mean the first flower is an offset of the second one?  It could be light intensity differences that resulted in the change in colour.

Exactly Leisl  - this is what is so strange - the mother plant was dark orange last year (the photo reflects the true colour)  - didn't flower this year and now the offset is red (photo also reflects the true colour)

Sophia I am not too sure what the answer is but many of my plants are flowering different shades this year than they normally do .  I put it down to a: strange stop start non Winter b: maybe not enough fertiliser (read very little cos I have been not well) c: they usually get a drink or two of Potash prior to flowering which they haven't had this year.  Also have an Interspecific that flowers a pinkish non descript colour at this time of the year and then in a second flowering later on is a really dark red.  It will be interesting to see if it happens again through this Summer.  I have planted it in the garden now.
