C mirabilis in flower wanted to photograph
« on: August 13, 2013, 19:24:40 »
Hi everyone,

I know it is a bit early in the season, but Is there anyone on the forum from Gauteng who might have a Clivia mirabilis coming into flower??  I would love to take photographs of this unique species. Utter discretion is guaranteed and I will not divulge your details.
I am a keen botanical photographer and I recently took some pics of Clivia x nimbicola at a private collector in Johannesburg.

To view pics of the C x nimbicola as well as other interesting flora, be sure to check out my website!
The address is: www.flickr.com/photos/craig_gibbon

Kind regards,

Craig Gibbon.

Hi Robert,

Thank you for your kind words. I just hope I get to take some photos of this beautiful species.

I see you live 'just down the road' from me!  I'm currently living in Henley on Klip.

Regards,

Craig.

Hi Craig,

Good to hear that there are people with the same interests as me living close by.

Now I know that I am not the only one struggeling during our cold winters.

Good luck with your search.

Kind regards
Robert

Hi Robert,

Yes, we do live in an area that are not really condusive to Clivia culture and in fact, majority of my collection is still in Kwazulu Natal. I have only  brought two of my special Clivia with me.
