Fratserige ding
« on: November 02, 2012, 18:24:54 »
A friend came around and said "en die fratserige ding?" Hehe, I chose it for its nice spiky leaves, but the flowers came up pretty cool. They look like little squid before they open. This was a random interesting looking seedling that I got at a nursery in East London before it flowered. It flowered a while ago and didn't set seed, despite my best efforts.

Truly unusual Michael. The flowers seem to be lacking in ovary from what I see. That could explain the infertility. Could you confirm?

Michael it is a very nice "fratserige ding". Thanks for sharing.

Just one other question. Do you grow all your plants like the one in the pot on the left side of the pic ?

Kind regards
Eddie

Eddie, I am sure Michael will explain to you that they had much rain lately, and as they only have sand to plant in at the sea, it washes away very fast. Ag Michael, please explain to Eddie how busy you are, I can only try.

Freaky little thing! Does it produce any pollen? Might be a good match for the "Frats" line.

Thanks for sharing.

Stef now i am really confused. "as they only have sand to plant in at the sea". Does Michael plant his clivia's at the sea. Isn't he scared they will get stolen ?.

Kind regards
Eddie
