The storm hit East London at about midnight last night. Not too much rain, but the wind was frightening breaking branches, taking out trees, and where houses were not protected from the wind, removing flashing, gutters, verandas etc. It is really scary what Mother Nature can conjure. At night, when one can only hear the crashes and not see the damage, it is rather stressful.

Fortunately, at our home, like Carrie's, there is not a great deal of damage, but at our coastal cottage, the faschia boards and gutters were torn from their mountings. Will have to go and have a closer look when the weather settles a little.

The wind is still howling outside and it's chill factor is very unpleasant.

Oh no Dad, that sounds terrible!  I hope that the damage at Haga-Haga is not too bad!  Good luck to everyone experiencing these fierce weather conditions!
