Heinie, thank you very much for the picture!

It is a pity, that you had to remove the leaves. Sometimes I have the impression, that some new roots make the leaves loose, as they develop between the lower leaves and the stem.

Do you think, that the large offset will bloom next season?

With kind regards,
Elke

Eugene, thank you for the compliment but there is no need to bring your plants around, you can do the "treatment" on your property. It is not a treatment but rather a standard management routine for all my garden plants because they need the proper nourishment to present themselves well. You should know that my plants are my pleasure.

Elke, when I removed the plant from amongst the other plants the leaves did not look good because they were due to be removed anyway.

Christine, thank you for your kind compliment.

Thanks for the tip Heinie. I will follow the advice as I would love my plants to look like yours. I see that Haifa Chemicals' details are Unit 5, 18 Viven Street, Brackenfell, 7560 Telephone:021-9820309. They also have distributors elsewhere. As I am in CT I'll contact them to get some. (Perhaps you should get commission?)

Hi Heinie,
Here I am coming in after the fact with a question.
How long did a 25kg bag last using 5g at a time?
(I make that about 5000 applications.)
I would like to get some but hope it can be stored OK.
Do they state a shelf-life on the product?
Regards,
Brian

Brian,
I purchased a bag about 3 years ago and gave quite a bit away too. I think there is about 2 kilograms left for this and perhaps next season. It will keep many years as long as it does not become damp and form clumps of stones. I keep the bag in my garage on a shelf off the ground and about one kilogram handy in my garden headquarters for normal applications.

The 5000 applications you refer to is rather 5000 litres of mix for me and compare to 250 applications because I spray 20 litres at a time on all my plants.

Thanks for the explanation Heinie.
You got pretty good value there. I wonder if it's still R128 a bag!
20 litres at a time means you must have quite a lot of plants.
I will be coming to visit you soon & have a look.
Regards,
Brian

Hi Heinie,
Here's the bad news:
A 25kg bag is now R500 excluding VAT - how's that for inflation?
In addition Haifa also recommend Multi-K GG which is R300 excl. for 25kg.
I think this is getting to be an expensive hobby if we go with all this.
I suppose that's the price for getting better than average results.
Regards,
Brian

Brian,
There is one business to go into then. 400% in 3 plus years. You should get 2 or 3 people to share the 25kg with you.

Thanks Heinie & Randy.
I went to Hygrotech last Friday (as suggested by Heinie). That was to get their Trichoderma product (called T-Grow).
They sold me a packet but there wasn't a sales person to give any further help. (Note it was Friday PM.) Later I read on the Forum that Gerrit Badenhorst who worked for them in Pretoria, had posted info on their various products. So I 'phoned Pretoria only to find he has left & it was a dead end after that. Still I won't give up just yet.
Regards, Brian

Brian,
I mix one teaspoon to 5 litres water which is double the recommended amount but I do so because it has a shelf life and not to waste the left over product. The expiry date is on the pack and I always request for a pack with at least 6 months left to expiry. I dip all bare roots in a solution prior to planting. I water all plants with this solution once a month as recommended.
