Clivia Links + a new link
« on: August 09, 2011, 03:40:47 »
I was browsing online and found a few interesting links.  Maybe someone will find them useful if for nothing else to pass some time.

http://www.growingwithplants.com/2006/03/clivia-giant-yellow-x.html

http://www.clivia.jp/bbs1/bbs29.cgi?num=0        <<<<<:Japan Clivia society if you scroll down each page there are numbers 1-7 near the bottom of the page.  It is worth browsing through for the pictures alone. NEW CONTENT

http://www7a.biglobe.ne.jp/~clivia/                    <<<<<: I think it is Masami Uno's page.  Click through the colored tabs on the left to see some very interesting plants.  NEW CONTENT

I hope the links will work as long as there are members interested in using them.

There are clearly visible tags in the pictures on Masami Uno's website written in English.  It makes for an interesting read.  The plants and seeds that make up his collection are from around the world.  There are lots of familiar names represented in the collection.

Another site
                         http://saibai2.clivia.jp/

Under Archives tabs on the right side if you scroll down just a bit November 2007 - December 2006 Click through the months there are some good pictures including a fantastic Fukurin with stable variegation with several offsets in a pot.  And right under it a green green flowered clivia with very different floret shape from most of the other greens with 2 umbles.

If you copy the link and paste it into google, and then click on 'translate' it translates the page. Thanks Tedd, I enjoyed these links too.

Michael the translation is a great resource.  If it were just a bit better maybe we would get more interaction with non English speaking enthusiasts from around the world.

Michael, Tedd,
Could you please give me more detailed info on the translation?
I can't seem to figure it out.  I can do the copy and paste, but don't
see where I can translate it.
Thank you and thanks, Tedd for the links.

Gail, in google.com right at the top it says web, images, maps, news, translate, you click on translate. You might have to click on 'more' to show the translate button. Right at the top.

When reading translated stuff you can suggest better translations, and be as amazed as I am to see how the quality of the translation gradually improves over time.

Thanks for the links Tedd. :good:

I will try that "google translate" thing Michael when I got extra time.
There's so much to do in the garden with only 3 months left before frost comes in Virginia. :'(

We are blessed for only one reason...to share.

If you use Google Chrome as your Browser (free download) vs using Internet Explorer or Safari if you are a mac user.   The translation option will appear automatically when you visit a page in a foreign language.

I am not sure if this site is advertising something for sale or just for sharing pictures.  There are some interesting ones here.  A few familiar including Mr. He's yellows and then some new to me.
