Broadleaf hybrid seedlings
« on: December 13, 2010, 13:09:10 »
Hi Group.

Thought i would post a photo of some of my seedlings. These are broadleaf hybrid crosses i made last year and planted this spring. I am very happy with them so far. They have turned out to be quite broad. it is only when i compare them to my miniata do i realise how broad they are in comparison.

Pic 1 - some of my seedlings germinating - plus an out of season yellow flowering now.

Pic 2 - One tup of broadleaf seedlings up close - notice the seedlings in the top right corner

Pic 3 - the seedling in the top corner is 3cm wide. i have just pulled it aside to reveal the odd coloured seedling underneath as well.

Very happy with the leaf width  :mmm:
Will have to see if they retain it and improve with time.

Nice Mark!
I've found some seedlings' 4th leaf nearly double the 2nd leaf's width.
Some cool seedlings you have in there.
This is what I enjoy growing too. Plant many, keep few.

Hi Michael, yep, very happy with the seedlings. I do hope that they double their width in the second leaf as you say is possible. That would be great.

Abby, thanks for the comment. I will keep you in mind when i run out of room!

Michael, i keep getting these LOB LIKE seedlings "popping up" in a few crosses i have made. Cant explain them as my LOB flowered out of season last year and could not have cross pollinated. They do seem to be surviving and growing so i will see what happens.
