Interesting observation.  I have noted multitepals do not bloom to their ability if they are not in peak performance.  I believe that clivia put a lot of energy into seed development and for that reason I rest them every few years and are rewarded for doing so.

I will have some multitepal x keeled petals flower in about 2 weeks. I will post a picture. As both traits are recessive I am not sure what will result and may have to take it to the next generation to see the potential of that cross.
